CASWELL HOUSE DETAILS

– Where is Caswell House? –

Caswell House is situated in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, just over a mile from Brize Norton, to the west of Oxford and south of Witney. It is also within easy reach of the picturesque and popular town of Burford.

 

– Is Caswell House a ‘green’ wedding venue? –

Taking care of the environment is important to us. With pure spring water from our own spring, underfloor heating from our wood pellet boiler, electricity from our solar panels, and a reed bed filtration system, we are always looking to lower our carbon footprint. Our Sustainability policy can be viewed here.

 

– Is Caswell House Accessible? –

Absolutely – Caswell House is flat access and free of steps throughout the venue with a disabled access toilet. All guest areas are spacious with easy access for wheelchairs and we have ample parking situated just behind the venue. In addition, we have an easy access bedroom available in our Rymonds Barn, with wider access doorways and larger bathroom. Please note accommodation is via invitation from the couple.

– How much does it cost to hire Caswell House? –

Venue Hire prices range from £4,750-£11,500 dependent on the day of the week and month chosen. Full weekend hire prices range from £15,000 – £27,500.

Venue pricing is inclusive of VAT and are subject to availability.

Prices for specific dates are available on enquiry.

 

– What is provided within the venue hire cost? –

Exclusive use of three medieval barns for dining and dancing is yours, with space for up to 200 evening guests. The venue cost covers hire from 10am until midnight, with extensions available on request at an additional cost. Tables, chairs and highchairs are all available for the wedding breakfast, while comfortable seating is provided in the Joslins barn and garden furniture is provided for the beautifully landscaped courtyard.

A Bose PA system for the speeches and for quiet background music if required is also provided.

The cost of venue hire also includes the dressing areas and a stunning honeymoon suite.

 

– Is parking available on the estate for guests? –

Caswell House has plenty of parking space for all guests, with cars able to remain overnight until 10 o’clock the following morning.

 

 

CEREMONIES

– Are we able to hold our wedding ceremony at Caswell House in addition to the reception? –

Indoor ceremonies at Caswell House can take place in Wenmans Barn at a cost of £395 including VAT. The Barn can accommodate between 75 and 140 guests.

During the months of April through to September, there is also the option to hold your ceremony in our beautiful Loggia, at an additional cost of £100 including VAT.

Ceremonies can be accommodated from 1pm onwards, however we recommend a ceremony time of 2pm.

These costs are not applicable if you are holding your reception with us following a church service.

 

– Can we have a church service? –

Yes! There are a number of beautiful churches the surrounding areas. Please speak to the team for the list of local Churches.

 

– Can we have a celebrant-led ceremony? –

Absolutely, we welcome you to have the ceremony type of your choosing.

 

 

 GUESTS

– How many reception guests can be catered for? –

Seating in the barns can be provided for up to 140 guests for the wedding breakfast, with capacity for a total of 200 guests in the evening.

 

– Do you have a minimum number of guests? –

Our Lavender Weddings require a minimum of 60 adult guests, and all other dates 75 adult guests.

 

 

ACCOMMODATION

– Is accommodation available on the estate? –

There are fifteen beautiful bedrooms at Caswell House in addition to the Honeymoon Suite, providing elegant and stylish accommodation exclusively for your closest family and friends.

The stunning Honeymoon Suite is provided with compliments on the night of your wedding.

 

– How many guests can stay onsite? –

Caswell House has 16 bedrooms on site, including the Honeymoon Suite. We can sleep a maximum of 32 adults, and an additional 8 children under the age of 12.

 

– Do you have beds for children? –

Absolutely – four of our fifteen bedrooms can be made into family rooms, accommodating up to two children under the age of 12 sharing a sofa bed. We also have cots available.

 

– Is breakfast included? –

A continental breakfast with hot breakfast rolls is included for all guests staying on site. Unfortunately due to the capacity of the barn we are unable to welcome additional guests for breakfast.

 

– What time can we check in to our accommodation? –

For the convenience of you and your guests, and to help you make the very most of the day, an early check-in of 1pm is provided for all rooms.

 

 

PREPARATION SPACES

– Are dressing rooms available? –

You can make use of superb dressing areas, with our Dressing Room available for an early start at 9am, and the Games Room open from 11am.

 

– What’s included for us in the preparation spaces? –

We have Nespresso coffee machines for your use in both spaces, as well as standard tea & coffee with sugar and milk. Cutlery, crockery and glassware is included, and we

 

 

ALCOHOL

– Is there a bar on site? –

The Oak Bar is located in Bartletts barn. Our bar is fully stocked for your wedding, and can be open to guests from the drinks reception onwards.

 – Do you charge corkage? –

Caswell House is proud to be a corkage free venue.

You are welcome to supply your own champagne/Prosecco/pimms for the drinks reception and wine for the wedding breakfast, as well as one soft drink option.

At the end of the wedding breakfast, any remaining alcohol will be placed into your store for you to take home. All drinks in the evening can be purchased via the Oak Bar.

 

– Can I bring my own beer? –

Supplying spirits or beers/lagers is not permitted; we do have a full range of options in the bar, and you are also welcome to pre-order beers for the drinks reception directly through Caswell House.

 

– Can I have cocktails? –

Caswell House can offer cocktails by pre-order, for the drinks reception or tea and coffee hour. We also have a Gin Bar available for the drinks reception.

 

 

SUPPLIERS

– Do I have to use your suppliers? –

When booking Caswell House you are required to use the following suppliers as stipulated by us:

We have a list of recommended suppliers who we work closely with for all other aspects of your day, however you are welcome to use a supplier of your choosing.

 

 – Are the fairy-lights included? –

The fairy lights located in Bartletts and Joslins barns are included in the venue hire. Should you wish to have any additional lighting in Wenmans barn, it can be hired through Oakwood Events.

 

 – Is there a “green room” for my suppliers? –

Suppliers are welcome to use Joslins barn to rest in during the day. There is a changing space and toilet available for bands behind the performance space.

 

 

 ON THE DAY

 – What time can we access Caswell House? –

Access times on your wedding day are as follows:

The Dressing Room – 9am

The Barns – 10am

The Games Room – 11am

Accommodation – 1pm

 

 – Who sets up? –

Suppliers you have booked will set up their own product/service. Your on the day coordinator will set your remaining décor etc as per the plans agreed at your final details meeting.

 

 – Do we need to pack away our decorations at the end of the night? –

Not at all! Our bar team will pack everything down and move all items from the barns into Store 8 for you to collect the following morning. We just ask that you nominate a member of the wedding party to take any cards and gifts.

 

 

 MISC

– Can I visit to view the venue? –

We would be delighted to show you around. As Caswell House is a family home however, we do ask that all viewings are made by prior appointment. To arrange your visit please just give us a call on 01993 701064 or email weddings@caswellhouse.co.uk.

 

– Will there be show rounds on my wedding day? –

Due to a busy calendar with wonderful weddings, we are required to offer show-rounds on wedding days. These will only take place from 9am-12pm and will not include any preparation spaces or bedrooms. Caswell House is exclusively yours from 12pm.

 

 – Is there a sound limiter? –

We have a sound limiter in place set to 96 decibels.

 

– Can we use confetti? –

You are welcome to use natural petal confetti.  Confetti canons, biodegradable paper or bubbles are not permitted.

 

– Can we have sparklers and firepits? –

To ensure the safety of you and your guests, we do not permit firepits. Sparklers are permitted under the guidance of Caswell House.

 

– Do you have public liability insurance? –

Caswell House has public liability insurance in place.
